Our Lady in the Home of Mother

The Pilgrim Icon of Czestochowa spent 24 hours with the Servants of the Home of Mother. Sister Paqui with a group of sisters and missionaries had attended the celebration mass on Monday 26 in Our Lady of Czestochowa parish, and she had asked in pray to have the Icon at their home just one day.

Great was her surprise when the pilgrimage coordinator in Guayaquil approached her to ask if she wanted the visit of the Icon.

Feast of Our Lady of Czestochowa

On Monday, August 26 we celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Czestochowa, precisely with the Pilgrim Icon in the parish that bears Her name.

During the novena, the parish priest Fr. Jose Manuel Delgado, has the habit of visiting different sectors that belong to the parish and celebrating Mass there, so the Pilgrim Icon visited the sectors of:

A temple promised to the Virgin of Czestochowa

On May 13, 1981, Holy Father St. John Paul II toured St. Peter's Square in his papamobile blessing the faithful who gathered there. No one imagined that a renowned gunman would try to assassinate the Pontiff threatening his life.

Prayers to God and for the intercession of Blessed Virgin Mary for the life of the Vicar of Christ spread throughout the world. In Guayaquil, the archbishop at the time, Bernardino Echeverria Ruiz OFM wanted to offer something special. He would build a temple to Our Lady of Czestochowa if the Holy Father would be healed.  St. John Paul II survived!

Our Lady visits the students of the Holy Spirit school

The students of Centro de Estudios Espiritu Santo, Male section, received with great devotion the Pilgrim Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa on Tuesday, August 13. Some students were elected to attend the Holy Eucharist in Her honor, celebrated by Father Christian Morante, and 20 children gave red and white roses to the Mother of God.

First parish in Guayaquil

The Pilgrim Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa arrived at the Parish of Queenship of Mary and remained at the main altar adorned with flowers from August 10 to 13.

Although the image is not unknown in Guayaquil, since here is a parish that bears Her name, many people gathered at the end of the Mass on Saturday night and Sunday to see, adore and touch Her.

First visit in Guayaquil

The Pilgrim Icon returned to Ecuador, this time to visit Her children in the city of Guayaquil. Fr. Leon Juchniewicz, Polish missionary, chancellor of the Diocese of Santo Domingo and custodian of the Icon here in Ecuador, arrived with the Pilgrim Virgin of Czestochowa on Saturday, August 10, and as soon as She landed he took Her to the retirement home of the Sisters of Santo Domingo de Guzman where the II Meeting of Catholic Formation of Ecuador was held under the general theme:

The Pilgrim Icon ends Her visit in Panama

The Pilgrim Icon of the Virgin of Czestochowa ended Her visit in the Panamanian isthmus. She spent almost 10 months touring Panama City, Chitre and Colon. Angel and Carmen de Ruiz - a couple who belong to the Trinitarian Spirituality of the Children of the Mother of God were the custodians of the Icon.

Praise be to Jesus. Dear brothers, we want to share with you the beautiful experience of having the "Mamushca" at home for more than three months ... It was because She wanted to stay, She felt very good, and we even more. She came to stay with us, a community founded here in Panama. We arrived about two years and six months ago. Our Lady as a good Mother wanted to stay with Her daughters.

The pilgrimage of the Mother of Heaven continues

Since the World Youth Day in January, the Icon of the Virgin of Czestochowa is visiting different parishes of the Archdiocese of Panama.

In the words of Angel Ruiz Stecco, delegate of Fr. Francisco Verar and of the Archbishop of Panama, Monsignor Jose Domingo Ulloa, Her pilgrimage has been providence, since they have not insisted on making plans, but come to the parishes at special moments.

A visit from Colombia


Panama received thousands of pilgrims for the World Youth Day and among them a group of young people from the Diocese of Arauca Colombia accompanied by Fr. Fabio Celi.
