Mary - the Arc of Covenant for us, today!

With these words, the Archbishop Sławoj Leszek Głódź, the Metropolitan Bishop of Gdańsk, greeted the peregrinating Icon of Czestochowa "from Ocean to Ocean" in defense of life at the Cathedral of Oliwa.  He began the prayers with the renewal of the "Act of Entrustment" and presided over the solemn Mass concelebrated by Archbishop Emeritus, Tadeusz Gocłowski, as well as fifteen priests of the Diocese of Gdansk.

"For coffee" with the sisters of St. Brigid

This was truly a camera worthy meeting.  The Mother Superior, Karin, was joking that the Blessed Mother will drop in on them "for coffee" only.

The Life Mobile arrived at the entrance to the chapel.  All the religious sisters, and guests present, were able to kiss the Icon.  Our Blessed Mother entered the chapel and stopped before the altar.  The sisters recited the Holy Rosary in the intention for the protection of life.

On time at Mass in Gietrzwald

We were late!  The road turned out to be under construction, some stretches of the road very uneven and it was impossible to drive faster, even with the escort of the motorcade and the police.  Several times, people stood by the road greeting Our Lady with tears in their eyes, flowers in their hands, kneeling on the ground as She passed by.  These were touching moments, but the time was passing mercilessly, and at last, we were a whole hour late arriving in Gietrzwald.

Our Lady blesses the NaPro Technology clinic

Leaving Bialystok, Our Lady in the Icon of Czestochowa blesses the conceived life in Her travels across the world.  This was especially expressed during Her short visit at the infertility clinic named "Napromedica."  Here, only ethical methods of specialized therapy are being offered to married couples touched by infertility.  The success rate using this method is very high.

In the evening, on August 12th, the Icon of Czestochowa was carried in a procession through the main streets of the city from the Catholic cathedral to the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Nicholas, the Miracle Worker.  The Icon was welcomed in front of the cathedral by His Eminence, Archbishop Jakub, the ordinary of the Bialystok-Gdansk Diocese, who, assisted by priests and deacons, received the Icon from the hands of the Catholic priests.  They entered the cathedral all together.

Big Crowds for Life - Białystok

In the evening of the 12th of August, the Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa arrived in the Polish city of Białystok, where great crowds of people awaited Her.  The first meeting took place at the Roman-Catholic Cathedral, where the Holy Rosary was prayed.  The great church was filled with the faithful gathered.  The young people led the liturgy, and the scouts kept watch.  The crowds were so numerous that a great number of faithful had to remain outside the cathedral.

Volunteer firefighters as escort for Our Lady in Suprasl

In the afternoon, on August 12th, the pastor with several priests from neighboring parishes and numerous faithful awaited Our Blessed Mother in front of the Catholic church in Suprasl.  The motorcyle escort arrived first at the church, the "Life Mobile" with the Icon followed.  This time the, the Volunteer Firefighters of Suprasl formed the Honor Guard carrying the Icon into the church.

The Mother always leads to Her Son - A visit in Sokółka

The beautiful church in Sokolka of St. Anthony of Padua has gathered a huge crowd of people who wanted to celebrate the Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa, on Sunday, August 12th.  This parish in Sokolka is known for the Eucharistic miracle that took place there in 2008, when a purified host turned into a small piece of a heart muscle tissue and was confirmed by two independent pathologists and the ecclesiastical commission, waiting to be approved by the Vatican as an authentic miracle.

The Traveling Icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa Has Arrived in Poland

At around 10:00 in the morning, on Sunday, August 12th, the Icon of Czestochowa traveling through the many countries in defense of life had crossed the Polish border.  After a touching farewell in front of the Basilica of St. Michael in Marijampolė, the Polish escort took over.  At the head of the motorcade rode ten motorcycles from the Rally of Katyn.  The motorcyclists wore their blue "armor" of the Mother of God, like the knights, and a medal of the Icon on their chests along with the logo of the peregrination: "From Ocean to Ocean" on their backs.

On Saturday, July 11th, in the church belonging to the monastery of the Holy Spirit in Vilnius, which hosted Icon of Czestochowa for the night, Archbishop Innocent, assisted by Archimandrite Vasil Novinsky with the clergy from the monastery and various parishes of Vilnius, celebrated the Divine Liturgy.
